The Palestinian Prisoners&rsquo Society (PPS) has said that the number of hunger striking administrative detainees increased to thirteen.
In a press statement on Friday the PPS underlined that six administrative detainees from Rimon prison started their hunger strike on Thursday.
The PPS identified the six detainees as Hadi Nazzal Mohammed Zakarnah Anas Kumeil Abdu-Rahman Barraqah Mohammed Ikhmeis and Zuhdi Ibeido.
It added that seven administrative detainees continued their hunger strike pointing out that four of them have been on hunger strike for the thirteenth day two have been on hunger strike for the ninth day and another continued his hunger strike for the fifth day.
The administrative detainees committee had announced that Palestinian prisoners from all factions will escalate their protest steps as part of a comprehensive plan in protest at the Israeli policy of administrative detention.
The Israeli occupation authorities have issued 1978 administrative detention orders against Palestinian citizens since the beginning of the current year 2023.
