The Palestinian Authority (PA) security services on Sunday arrested the Palestinian ex-prisoner Yaqoub Hussein from Birzeit town to the north of Ramallah.
Eyewitnesses reported that the PA intelligence agents assaulted Hussein and arrested him from his workplace in Birzeit.
Hussein’s mother said that he spent five years in the Israeli prisons mostly held in administrative detention calling for releasing her son and all political prisoners held in the PA prisons.
Ex-prisoner Hussein 30 from Jalazon camp north of Ramallah had been on hunger strike twice while he was held in the Israeli Ramleh and Megiddo prisons in protest at his solitary confinement.
At least 52 Palestinian citizens including students activists and ex-prisoners are currently held in the PA prisons.
