A ceasefire came into effect on Friday evening in Ein al-Hilweh Palestinian refugee camp in southern Lebanon.
Palestinian sources reported that the ceasefire was declared following the intervention of the head of the Lebanese Southern Intelligence Division Colonel Suhail Harb.
&ldquoThe ceasefire was achieved after the Palestinian Joint Action Committee held intensive contacts with the Lebanese security services on Friday morning&rdquo local sources reported.
Meanwhile Hamas spokesman Jihad Taha said that the Movement organized a series of meetings to stop the ongoing armed clashes that threaten the security of the Palestinian refugee camp.
Earlier in the morning clashes renewed in Ein al-Hilweh refugee camp after calm was maintained for some hours following the night armed clashes that resulted in injuring 20 people.
