The Islamic Jihad Movement has condemned allowing an Israeli delegation to attend a UNESCO meeting held in Saudi Arabia.
In a press statement on Monday evening the Movement said that receiving an Israeli delegation in Saudi Arabia constitutes a form of normalizing ties with Israel which all Arab and Muslim nations reject.
The Movement said that allowing the Israeli delegation to participate in the meeting amid the escalating Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people and lands provides a cover for the Israeli crimes and encourages it to commit further crimes.
Earlier today an Israeli delegation attended a meeting by the United Nations’ cultural agency in Riyadh which is a sign that Saudi Arabia is opening up to normalizing ties with Israel.
Israeli officials were seen sitting at the 45th session of UNESCO’s World Heritage Committee.
&ldquoWe are happy to be in Riyadh&rdquo an Israeli official said adding that participating in the meeting is a good first step.
