Hamas: The Israeli massacres against our people “imprescriptible”

Saturday 16-September-2023

The Hamas Movement has affirmed that the Palestinian people will remain adherent to their national constants and rights and will continue to work with the resistance for the liberation of Palestine describing the Israeli massacres against them as &ldquoimprescriptible.&rdquo

In a statement on the 41st anniversary of the Sabra and Shatila massacre Hamas spokesman Jihad Taha said that all the efforts to liquidate the Palestinian cause by destabilizing the situation in Palestinian refugee camps and abolishing the refugees&rsquo right to return to their homes would be doomed to failure.

Taha stressed that the Sabra and Shatila massacre would remain witness to the bloodthirstiness and sadism of the Israeli occupation state which he said &ldquowas founded on terrorism and racism.&rdquo

He added that the Palestinian people would never forget and forgive the massacres that had been committed by the Israeli occupation forces against the Palestinian people expressing his belief that the perpetrators would be punished and persecuted sooner or later.

Today September 16 marks the 41st anniversary of the Sabra and Shatila massacre which was committed by the Israeli occupation army and local militia groups against Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.

On September 16 1982 Israeli-backed militias killed between 2000 and 3500 Palestinian refugees and Lebanese civilians in two days in the Palestinian refugee camp of Shatila and the adjacent neighborhood of Sabra which are located southwest of Beirut.

The slain Palestinian refugees were victims of the 1948 Nakba (catastrophe) which happened during the ethnic cleansing of Palestine by Zionist militias.
