The Palestinian resistance group al-Fajr Brigade said on Monday that its fighters opened fire at an Israeli military post near Deir Sharaf village northwest of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
In a communiqué the Brigade said that the shooting operation was in response to Sunday’s mass desecration of the Aqsa Mosque by Jewish settlers and the police assault on Muslim worshipers.
The Brigade affirmed that a number of soldiers might have been injured in the shooting attack.
The Brigade also warned the Israeli occupation army that it would pay dearly for its ongoing blockade and daily raids on Beita town in Nablus.
Following the shooting operation the Israeli army intensified the presence of its forces in the area and blocked all the entrances of Deir Sharaf village.
