Israeli house demolition orders in Jordan Valley suspended

Wednesday 20-September-2023

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission and the Tubas Governorate managed to freeze an Israeli order to demolish Palestinian homes in Khirbet Humsa al-Fawqa in the northern Jordan Valley.

Local activist Moataz Bisharat affirmed that the decision came after submitting an appeal to the Israeli Supreme Court against the demolition orders.

The Israeli court had previously rejected a Palestinian petition and approved the demolition of the tents that they had built on their land three years ago Bisharat pointed out.

However the court accepted the second appeal and decided to freeze the demolition orders until further notice he added.

Three years ago Khirbet Humsa al-Fawqa was subjected to massive demolition operations targeting all of its residential facilities as part of the Israeli displacement policy against Palestinian residents.
