The Israeli occupation army reinstated on Thursday a military verdict that allows the appropriation of Palestinian owned lands between Jerusalem and Ramallah for military purposes.
According to the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission the Israeli military authority reactivated a previous decision allowing the seizure of 350 dunums of land belonging to the Palestinian villages of Qatanna al-Qubeiba and Beit Anan in the northwest of Jerusalem and the town of Beit Liqya in western Ramallah.
Muayyad Shaaban head of the Commission said that the Israeli army had appropriated the same swaths of land in 2004 at the pretext of using them for military purposes and prevented local residents from reaching or utilizing them.
Shaaban pointed out that such Israeli military orders aim to strengthen the apartheid and settlement expansion policies in the occupied Palestinian territories.
&ldquoThe occupation state’s takeover of citizens&rsquo lands violates the most basic rules of the international law and resolutions that have criminalized settlement activity and annexation of Palestinian lands&rdquo the Palestinian official underlined.
He said that the Israeli army had issued since 2014 a total of 85 military orders declaring the seizure of vast tracts of land &mdash about 1822 dunums of land &mdash on allegations of exploiting them for military purposes.
