The Israeli government has approved plans to build more than 18000 settlement units east of Occupied Jerusalem since the start of the year.
Israeli rights group Ir Amim affirmed that the Israeli government plans to construct 18223 settlement housing units east of Occupied Jerusalem from January until September 2023.
The group indicated that these numbers of new settlement units reflect the increasing trend in settlement expansion in and around Jerusalem since 2021.
More than 900000 Jewish settlers currently reside in 199 settlements and 256 settlement outposts in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem in flagrant violation of international laws and resolutions.
