Fears grow for life of hunger striker Kayed Fasfous

Saturday 23-September-2023

Amid growing health fears over his life Palestinian prisoner Kayed al-Fasfous entered on Saturday day 52 of the hunger strike he staged to protest his administrative detention.

According to human rights sources the health of prisoner Fasfous has worsened sharply and reached a critical stage.

Recently the Israeli prison service transferred him to an isolation cell in Ashkelon prison and prevented his transfer to any hospital to receive medical follow-up.

As a result of his protracted hunger strike Fasfous suffers from serious health complications including blurred vision continual vomiting and failure to stand and move.

Meanwhile the IPS deprives Fasfous of meeting his lawyer or any member of his family.

Fasfous from Dura town in al-Khalil has been in administrative detention since May 2023. He is an ex-detainee who spent about seven years in different Israeli jails.
