Dozens of Jordanians rallied on Tuesday evening outside the UN headquarters in Amman in protest at the Israeli blockade on the Gaza Strip.
During the protest rally a representative of the protesters handed a UN official a petition calling for action ending the Israeli siege on Gaza.
The protesters carried banners expressing solidarity with the embattled Gaza population and calling for the establishment of a seaport in Gaza linking it to the outside world.
Addressing the participants in the protest head of the &ldquoOpen Gaza Ports&rdquo campaign Wael al-Saqqa said that the campaign is organized in more than 20 Arab and European countries to demand an end to the siege on Gaza and to highlight the suffering of its population.
Saqqa condemned the Arab normalization of ties with the Israeli occupation state as a stab in the back of the Palestinian people calling on the Arab and Muslim peoples to stand with the Gaza people and participate in the campaign to demand an end to the Israeli siege.
