IOA forces Jerusalemite family to raze homes in Beit Hanina

Sunday 1-October-2023

The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) displaced on Sunday morning a Palestinian family after forcing it to demolish its apartments in Beit Hanina town northeast of Jerusalem at the pretext of unlicensed construction.

According to local sources the Israeli municipality forced the family of Fayza al-Obeidi to demolish two apartments belonging to them in Beit Hanina at its own expense.

The homeowners had to raze their apartments in order to avoid paying the Israeli municipality exorbitant expenses if its demolition crews carried out the measure.

Ten members of the family were living in those apartments.

The IOA imposes building restrictions on the Palestinian natives of Jerusalem and makes it hard for them to obtain construction licenses.

Israel’s systematic demolition of Palestinian homes in Occupied Jerusalem is believed to be aimed at psychologically destroying the Jerusalemite families in an attempt to force them to move out of the holy city.
