The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) placed the coordinator of the Islamic Bloc Amr Khalil and the member of the Student Council Conference Yahya Qassem under administrative detention for four months.
Earlier last week the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) raided the Birzeit University campus in northern Ramallah arresting eight students.
Among the eight students arrested by Israeli forces during their raid on Sunday is Abdel Majid Hassan president of the students’ council for the 2023-2024 term.
The student-led ‘Right To Education Campaign’ said Israeli forces are currently holding 80 students from Birzeit University alone.
Since the start of 2023 IOF soldiers have arrested more than 3600 Palestinians according to human rights groups many of whom are held in administrative detention.
Currently Israel detains some 5000 Palestinians including 1200 administrative detainees held without charges.
