Sada: 35 violations against Palestinian content last September

Monday 2-October-2023

Sada Social Center for the defense of the Palestinian digital rights has said that it recorded 35 violations of the Palestinian digital content last September.

In a press statement on Monday the Center said that it documented 35 violations against Palestinian content on social media platforms including 24 on Facebook four on Instagram and four on X in addition to four on TikTok.

&ldquoAbout 54 percent of the violations were targeted at Palestinian journalists&rdquo the Center pointed out adding that the violations included removing their content or accounts.

The Center affirmed that the policies adopted by social media networks to monitor Palestinian content resulted in financial losses to Palestinian media institutions whose sponsors are not willing to renew their funds due to the digital performance decline.

&ldquoMeta platforms don&rsquot provide &ldquoPalestine&rdquo or &ldquoPalestinian territories&rdquo as options for location while &ldquoIsrael&rdquo is one of the options&rdquo the Center said.
