For the second consecutive day the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) continued on Tuesday to close the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil City to Muslim worshipers to allow Jewish settlers to hold religious celebrations.
The IOA informed on Monday Palestinian officials in al-Khalil of its intent to close the Ibrahimi Mosque to Muslim worshipers for two days during the Sukkot holiday.
Accordingly the Israeli army opened the entire Mosque with its courtyards corridors and buildings to Jewish settlers who flocked yesterday and today in large numbers into the Islamic holy site for rituals and celebrations.
Yesterday the Israeli occupation forces sealed off Bab al-Zawiya area and different roads in the Old City of al-Khalil to secure the settler break-ins at the Ibrahimi Mosque amid clashes with local youths.
Several Palestinians were reportedly injured during the IOF attack on young protesters in Bab al-Zawiya.
