Al-Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas said that two of its fighters carried out at dawn Thursday the shooting operation that targeted some settler cars in the illegal settlement of Avnei Hefetz in Tulkarem before they were martyred.
In a communiqué al-Qassam Brigades mourned its fighters who carried out the operation saying they are Hudhayfa Fares 27 and Abdul-Rahman Atta 23.
Al-Qassam Brigades described the operation as a response to the Israeli violations in Jerusalem and the repressive measures taken against the Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
The Brigades pointed out that the shooting operation was a continuation of its fighters&rsquo fierce clashes with Israeli forces that happened earlier at dawn in Tulkarem refugee camp.
According to the Hebrew media five Israeli soldiers were wounded three seriously during dawn armed clashes with fighters from al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas in Tulkarem refugee camp.
The Times of Israel newspaper quoted a military source as saying that the five soldiers were hit by shrapnel from a hand grenade seriously wounding three of them and moderately hurting two others.
However video footage circulated on the internet today showed one wounded soldier screaming in pain on the ground before others dragged him away. Another video showed an explosive device being detonated at an Israeli army vehicle in Tulkarem camp.
