In the midst of ongoing devastating attacks on the Gaza Strip Israeli warplanes bombed on Wednesday the Islamic University in Gaza City destroying a number of its buildings.
Ahmed Urabi a professor at the Islamic University said that Israeli airstrikes completely destroyed premises on campus adding that no one could enter the facility because of the debris on the university’s paths.
The university administration for its part appealed to international educational organizations to urgently intervene to protect the institutions that serve Palestinian citizens and the students&rsquo right to safe education.
