A Palestinian resistance fighter was shot dead on Thursday evening after he carried out a shooting operation in the Old City of Occupied Jerusalem and injured two police officers.
According to local sources a Palestinian young man opened fire at an Israeli police station in Bab as-Sahira area in the Old City of Jerusalem and wounded two officers one seriously.
Another police officer at the scene returned fire at the young man and killed him immediately.
In a related context the Martyr Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed responsibility for the shooting operation and mourned Khaled Muhtaseb who opened fire at the policemen describing him as a &ldquohero.&rdquo
The Brigades said that the operation was in response to Israel’s heinous crimes against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip the West Bank and Jerusalem.
