Head of Hamas’s foreign political bureau Khaled Mishaal has said that the Palestinian resistance is a legitimate right and its existence relates to the presence of the occupation on the Palestinian land.
In an interview conducted with him on Saturday by the Turkish Haberturk TV Mishaal stated that the launch of Operation &ldquoAl-Aqsa Flood&rdquo was linked to the Israeli occupation’s crimes and its growing violations at the Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem.
&ldquoThe events of this battle did not begin on October 7 but they have been there since the occupation of our land and the killing and displacement of our people started&rdquo Mishaal underlined.
Mishaal affirmed that the military operation against the occupation was decided and planned in Palestine and only by al-Qassam Brigades.
Commenting on accusations leveled against the Palestinian resistance about assaulting and killing Israeli children Mishaal said that &ldquoal-Qassam Brigades&rsquo fighting rules are derived from the true Islamic teachings.&rdquo
&ldquoYou heard the instructions of al-Qassam commander when he said &lsquodo not kill a child a woman or an old man&rsquo&rdquo the Hamas leader added.
The Hamas leader accused the Israeli occupation state with support from America and the West of perpetrating premeditated crimes and genocide against the civilians in Gaza.
&ldquoIf an occupier moved towards Turkey and the Turkish army defended its country could this defense and confrontation with the occupier be considered terrorism? You will definitely see this person who came to your country as an occupier and you will fight him&rdquo the Hamas said during the interview.
Regarding the relationship between Hamas and Fatah the Hamas leader described his Movement’s relations with Fatah as &ldquogood in the field of resistance&rdquo but its relations with the Palestinian Authority (PA) are different stressing the need for &ldquothe PA leadership to side with its people and their options everywhere.&rdquo
&ldquoThe Palestinians gave a chance for different peace efforts but these efforts failed due to the arrogance of the Israeli occupation&rdquo the Hamas leader pointed out.
&ldquoNow while the enemy wants to kill you and complete his occupation we can talk about nothing but resistance and steadfastness&rdquo he added.
