An Israeli airstrike in Gaza City at the crack of dawn on Monday claimed the lives of five Palestinian Civil Defense members and injured five more.
The Ministry of Interior and National Security in Gaza affirmed that the Israeli airstrike targeted the Civil Defense headquarters in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood east of Gaza City resulting in five martyrs and five injured.
The ministry stressed that the Israeli occupation bombing killed Civil Defense workers after deliberately targeting them as they were heading to rescue people buried under the rubble of one of the destroyed homes in Gaza City.
Additionally the spokesman for Gaza Civil Defense emphasized that they are unable to meet the vast majority of the Strip’s needs due to their limited resources.
&ldquoWe sent out distress signals so that rescue teams could assist us&rdquo he added.
