The Disinformation Combat Center of the Turkish Presidency’s Directorate of Communications has refuted the Israeli occupation’s allegations about the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital massacre in the Gaza Strip.
In a social media statement the Disinformation Combat Center announced that the claims by Israel that Tuesday’s hospital bombing was carried out from Gaza are &ldquomisinformation.&rdquo
The Center said that Hananya Naftali Israel’s former digital media officer immediately shared social media posts after Israel’s attack on Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza stating that &ldquothe Israeli Air Force had hit a hospital in Gaza.&rdquo
The Center further reported that Naftali deleted his remarks shortly after.
The statement by the Center also explained that an account presenting itself as a journalist working for Al Jazeera and claiming that &ldquothe missile that struck the hospital was fired from Gaza&rdquo was a fake account.
The account with the name &ldquoFarida Khan&rdquo was found to have no connection to Al Jazeera and was being used for manipulative purposes the Center said.
&ldquoAdditionally the official Israeli state account on the X platform shared a video at 22:42 Turkish time attributing the bombing of the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital to Hamas. However it was determined that the video despite being shared around 19:27 was recorded at 19:59 indicating a serious case of disinformation. Recognizing that the video was incorrectly timestamped the Israeli account removed the video from sharing at 23:04 Turkish time&rdquo the Center elaborated.
The Center also examined images shared by Israeli propaganda accounts claiming that a Palestinian missile hit the hospital and found that these images were from 2022 and not 2023.
It also cited a recent statement in which &ldquothe Israeli army demanded the immediate evacuation of hospitals&rdquo bolstering the case that it was the Israeli army that carried out the deadly airstrike on Al-Ahli Hospital and that it did so deliberately.
At least 500 people have lost their lives during an Israeli attack on the Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City.
