The Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza has opened temporarily to allow a small amount of desperately needed aid into Gaza where Palestinians are running short of food medicine fuel and water.
A convoy including 20 aid trucks entered the Gaza Strip on Saturday morning from Egypt carrying medicines and food supplies a statement from the Government Media Office said.
&ldquoThe relief aid convoy that is supposed to enter today includes 20 trucks that carry medicines medical supplies and a limited amount of food supplies [canned goods]&rdquo the Media Office said earlier.
The Media Office stressed that such truckloads of aid would not change the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in Gaza which is under tight siege and large-scale attack.
According to Palestinian officials in Gaza 20 trucks is like a drop in the ocean given that Gaza used to get &ndash in terms of aid coming into Gaza before this conflict started &ndash about 100 trucks of aid a day.
