IOF launches new arrest campaign across West Bank

Tuesday 24-October-2023

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched a large-scale raid campaign in the West Bank arresting at least 50 Palestinians mostly ex-prisoners and activists affiliated with the Hamas Movement early on Tuesday.

In Jenin the IOF arrested the paralyzed ex-prisoner Sheikh Adnan Hamarsheh after raiding his home in Ya`bad town. Two other ex-prisoners were detained during the Jenin raids.

In addition the IOF stormed Al-Taram west of Jenin and threatened to bomb a local house belonging to Yahya Al-Fakhouri if he did not turn himself in.

Several raids were also carried out in the town while another young man was detained.

The IOF further arrested two ex-prisoners in Qalqilya and Salfit.

At least ten Palestinians were also rounded up in Ramallah including ex-prisoners and political activists.

Seven others were detained in Bethlehem including four brothers while nine were kidnapped in al-Khalil.

Since Al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas started its military operation “Al-Aqsa Flood” against the Israeli army the IOF has escalated its arrest campaigns in the West Bank and Jerusalem kidnapping hundreds of Palestinians.

Since the start of the year 6500 Palestinians have been arrested in Israeli almost-daily raids in the West Bank towns and cities not to mention the detention of citizens from Gaza and workers in 1948 occupied Palestine.
