Israeli warplanes on Wednesday evening carried out aerial strikes on Aleppo International Airport in northern Syria causing material damage.
A Syrian military source told the country’s official television that Israeli warplanes targeted the airport from the Mediterranean Sea direction west of Latakia noting that the damage was limited to the airport’s runway.
Damascus and Aleppo airports were last Sunday knocked out of service due to Israeli raids causing human casualties according to Syrian media.
The Syrian Ministry of Transport had announced the transfer of scheduled flights via Damascus and Aleppo airports to Latakia International Airport in the west of the country.
On Wednesday morning 8 Syrian soldiers were martyred 7 others were injured in an Israeli airstrike that targeted military points in Daraa countryside southwest of Syria according to the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA). The Israeli attack also led to material damage.
