Al-Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas announced on Friday night that a group of its fighters confronted Israeli ground incursions into Beit Hanoun (northern Gaza) and the east of Bureij (central Gaza).

For its part al-Quds Brigades the armed wing of Islamic Jihad said last night that groups of its fighters were clashing with infiltrating Israeli forces in different Gaza border areas.
Huge orange flashes lit up the night sky over Gaza City and other areas as successive artillery and aerial strikes hit the beleaguered coastal territory where access to internet and phone networks were cut off.
Meanwhile Israeli military spokesman Daniel Hagari said the army was extending its ground operations after two straight nights of small-scale tank incursions.
