Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem has called for making real efforts to open the Rafah border crossing to provide the Gaza Strip with its humanitarian needs and allow the evacuation of wounded citizens for medical assistance abroad.
“For 23 days the terrorist Zionist enemy has been committing genocide against our people in Gaza with the aim of ending the Palestinian presence but it will not succeed in that” Qasem said in a statement on Sunday.
“There is a state of steadfastness and bravery among the resistance fighters as they defend our people their land and holy sites” the spokesman stressed.
The spokesman accused the Israeli occupation government of pretending that it is not interested in any prisoner swap deal expressing his belief that the resistance would force the Israelis to yield to its conditions.
Qasem urged the Arab and Muslim peoples and the world’s free people who support the Palestinian cause to escalate their protests against the Israeli aggression on Gaza and put more pressure on “the Zio-American interests.”
He affirmed that the Palestinian people would continue their legitimate struggle to regain their rights fully.
