Al-Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas said on Sunday afternoon that a group of its fighters ambushed Israeli forces and their vehicles in the northwest of Beit Lahia after carrying out an infiltration operation behind the enemy lines.
In a communiqué al-Qassam Brigades added that its fighters clashed with invading troops in the northwest of Beit Lahia without giving further information.
The Brigades also said that it attacked a gathering of Israeli military vehicles in al-Amerikiya area northwest of Beit Lahia with a suicide drone.
Earlier the Brigades said that it attacked Israeli forces and their vehicles in the same area with different projectiles amid ongoing clashes with them.
A number of Israeli soldiers were either injured or killed during the skirmishes in the area according to the Brigades.
Earlier the Brigades showered Tel Aviv with a number of rockets in retaliation for the ongoing Israeli massacres in Gaza.
The Hebrew media reported that one Palestinian rocket landed in Hod Hasharon City and another one in a West Bank settlement.
Other resistance factions also launched projectile and rocket attacks on Israeli military sites and settlements around Gaza.
Later in the evening a group of al-Qassam fighters reportedly destroyed two Israeli tanks in the northwest of Gaza during the ongoing clashes with Israeli troops there.
