An Israeli soldier was injured on Saturday evening when a Palestinian resistance fighter opened fire at him near Nabi Ilyas village east of Qalqilya City in the occupied West Bank.
The Israeli army radio said that a shooting operation targeted a military post near the eastern area of Qalqilya City.
Hebrew websites for their part claimed that a Palestinian gunman opened fire from a speeding car at Israeli soldiers near the settlement of Karnei Shomron injuring one of them.
A manhunt was launched for the shooter after he fled the scene.
