Nasrallah: We have been engaged in the war from the beginning

Saturday 4-November-2023

Secretary-General of the Lebanese Hezbollah party Hassan Nasrallah said that Al-Aqsa Flood Battle “was a 100 percent Palestinian operation but it has been extended to several fronts and arenas” stressing that his party has been already engaged in the unprecedented fighting along the Lebanon-Israel border since the beginning of al-Aqsa Flood Battle.

Hezbollah leader Nasrallah stressed in a televised speech on Friday evening that the battle against Israel is completely legitimate. Hezbollah’s operations have been forcing Israeli occupation forces (IOF) to deploy its units at the border which alleviates military pressure on Gaza as the third of the IOF’s logistic power has been directed to the Lebanon-Israel border he added.

He said: “The border operations have created a status of high concern anticipation and fear among the Israeli leadership and even the US administration.

He pointed out that Hezbollah’s operations have led to the “evacuation of 43 settlements in northern occupied Palestine (Israel).”

Nasrallah said that all options on the Lebanese front were open adding that the situation could escalate militarily “at any time”.

“The developments on the Lebanese front are dependent on two factors: the course of events in Gaza and the enemy’s behavior towards Lebanon” Nasrallah said.

“All options are open at our Lebanese front” he said adding: “We tell the enemy that might think of attacking Lebanon or carrying out a pre-emptive operation that this would be the greatest foolishness of its existence.”

Addressing the Americans Nasrallah said: “whoever wants to prevent the expansion of war fronts in the region must halt the aggression on Gaza.”

“The US is the first party responsible for what is going on in Gaza and the one who must halt it” he added.

Nasrallah underlined that halting the Israeli ongoing attacks on Gaza could prevent a regional war and ridiculed Israel’s initial objective of wiping out Hamas.

He called for a prisoner exchange deal with the release of Israeli hostages in return for Palestinian detainees and urged Arab and regional countries to take a tougher stance on Israel.

“You must work to stop the Israeli aggression against Gaza it is not enough just to denounce the aggression” he said. “Rather sever relations and withdraw the ambassadors” he added.

Nasrallah hailed the Iraqi and Yemeni involvement in the battle referring to attacking the US bases in Iraq and Syria by the resistance which he called a “brave and wise decision”.

Nasrallah said that the Hamas battle on 7 October was a must because it has returned the Palestinian cause as a priority issue in the world.

Nasrallah hailed the Hamas attacks on Israel on 7 October as a “great success” saying it revealed that Israel was “weaker than a spider’s web.”

“The Hamas attacks were planned in total secrecy which made this operation successful” he said.

“It was a 100 percent Palestinian operation planned and executed by Palestinians for the Palestinian cause it has no relation at all to any international or regional issues” he highlighted.

Regarding Iran’s role Nasrallah asserted that the leadership of the resistance movements own the decision while Tehran “adopts supports and assists only” stressing that “Iran does not have any kind of sponsorship over resistance movements in the region.”
