The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched a large-scale arrest campaign in the West Bank last night and in the early hours of Sunday accompanied by clashes and armed confrontations.
In Jenin the IOF raided the Al-Almania neighborhood and the eastern neighborhood of Jenin city accompanied by a “D9” bulldozer which led to clashes and confrontations with young men including exchange of gunfire and the throwing of homemade explosive devices towards IOF soldiers and military vehicles.
The IOF arrested 10 citizens from Jenin city including former prisoners. The IOF also raided several neighborhoods in Jenin city including Jabal Abu Zaher Kharouba Al-Marah and Wadi Az-Zein in addition to Jenin refugee camp the eastern neighborhood and Al-Germania neighborhood.
In Tulkarem IOF soldiers raided the Shweikeh suburb north of the city and arrested the two young men Muhtadi Issam Rajeh and Ryan Ubaid from their homes. Special Israeli forces also stormed the Tulkarem refugee camp and gunshots were heard inside the camp.
In Nablus the IOF raided the city and arrested two young men: Awni Ashkhshir an ex-prisoner from his home in the Rafidia neighborhood west of the city and Adi Al-Fakhouri from Krom Ashour while IOF vehicles came under gunfire near the Balata refugee camp and in the Muqata’a area east of Nablus.
The IOF also stormed the town of Qusra to the south of Nablus and broke into the house of Fouad Youssef Hassan before arresting him. The sodiers also raided several houses in the town and conducted searches. The IOF arrested the ex-prisoner Adel Saadeh from the town of Urif while passing near the Ariel settlement built on Salfit lands.
In Qalqilya Palestinian resistance fighters targeted Israeli military vehicles with locally made explosive devices early this morning damaging a military vehicle after being targeted on the Kafr Thuluth-Azzun road east of Qalqilya.
In Tubas the IOF arrested the young man Bilal Awaisa following a raid on his family’s home in Al-Far’a refugee camp south of Tubas.
In Ramallah the IOF arrested the ex-prisoner Ya’qub Hussein after raiding his family’s home in the Jalazoun refugee camp north of the city and brutally assaulting him according to his family.
The IOF also arrested journalist Amir Abu Arram researcher Mohammed Al-Qaddoumi ex-prisoners Younes Shalan and Musab Said and Birzeit Municipal Council member Ala Abu Awad after raiding their homes in the town of Birzeit north of Ramallah in the central West Bank.
The IOF soldiers also stormed the village of Bil’in west of Ramallah and arrested nine young men.
In Bethlehem the IOF raided the town of Beit Fajr to the south and arrested the young man Iyad Mahmoud Taqatqa after raiding and searching his house and tampering with its contents.
In al-Khalil IOF soldiers arrested Tayseer Al-Jamal and his son Iyad after raiding the southern area of the city.
