Hundreds of thousands of protesters gathered in central Jakarta on Sunday in Indonesia’s biggest display of solidarity with Palestinians since the beginning of Israel’s deadly onslaught on the besieged Gaza Strip.
Participants in the demonstration which was called for by the Indonesian People’s Coalition for Palestine chanted slogans and carried banners and placards calling for ending the blockade on Gaza allowing in humanitarian aid and stopping the Israeli aggression.
Indonesian ministers party leaders lawmakers and officials of Islamic organizations participated in the massive pro-Gaza rally.
The organizers estimated that about one and a half million people took part in the rally.
Since the beginning of the Israeli genocide in Gaza Indonesians have been taking to the streets in solidarity with Gaza and in protest at the US-backed Israeli war crimes.
