At least 40000 people have been killed injured or gone missing in Israel’s ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip since Oct. 7 according to the Government Media Office (GMO).
The Head of the GMO Salama Marouf said in a press conference held on Tuesday evening that 10328 people including 4237 children 2719 women and 631 elderly people have been killed.
Marouf said nearly 26000 others have been injured and more than 3000 people are missing.
He said the death toll includes 1021 residents of Gaza City and the northern Gaza Strip who were displaced to areas that the occupation claimed were safe in the south of the Gaza Strip in addition to 49 journalists.
Marouf also stated that 53 imams were killed during the attacks 56 mosques were completely destroyed and 136 others were partially damaged in addition to 3 churches.
The Israeli air strikes also destroyed – according to Marouf – 237 schools; 60 of them are now out of service. 88 government headquarters were also targeted.
He also noted that 192 medical and health personnel were killed 40 ambulances were destroyed 113 health institutions were severely damaged and 18 hospitals and 40 health centers were put out of service.
Marouf pointed out that “the occupation committed 1071 massacres against Palestinian families… while 1.5 million citizens were displaced from their homes.”
