Al-Qassam Brigades the armed wing of Hamas said on Wednesday that it had destroyed 16 armored vehicles mostly tanks during clashes with infiltrating Israeli forces in different areas of the Gaza Strip.
In a communiqué al-Qassam Brigades explained that a group of its fighters destroyed 16 armored vehicles most of them tanks with Yassin 105 projectiles in Gaza City and the north of the Strip.
Al-Qassam Brigades pointed out that an Israeli soldier was gunned down by one of its snipers in the same area.
In separate incidents a group of al-Qassam fighters ambushed an Israeli infantry force in Sheikh Ijlin neighborhood south of Gaza City killing and injuring a number of them.
Qassam fighters also attacked Israeli soldiers holed up in a building in the north of Beit Hanoun with an anti-personnel missile.
Meanwhile infiltrating Israeli forces in the northwest and south of Gaza City were showered by Qassam fighters with dozens of mortar shells.
The Brigades also launched a similar mortar attack on a gathering of tanks and armored vehicles in southern Gaza and fired a guided missile at Israel forces and their vehicles in the south of Gaza City.
In a related context the Israeli occupation army admitted on Wednesday that two of its soldiers were killed and three others were seriously injured during clashes with al-Qassam fighters in northern Gaza.
