Mohamed Zaqqout director general of Gaza hospitals has called on Egypt to immediately dispatch ambulances to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City to save the lives of the patients and displaced civilians who are under attack and siege.
“There is no safe place at Al-Shifa Medical Complex and its vicinity and it is impossible to reach martyrs’ bodies” Zaqqout told a news conference held at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis on Sunday.
Zaqqout pointed to life-threatening problems the hospital suffers from including waste accumulation and lack of water and electricity.
He said that the lives of about 1500 displaced people and 650 sick and wounded people including 36 children are in danger because of the catastrophic situation at Al-Shifa Hospital.
