Hamdan: Palestinian resistance is fine

Wednesday 15-November-2023

In a press conference held in Beirut on Tuesday evening the leader in Hamas Movement Osama Hamdan stressed that the Palestinian resistance and the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades are fine and in control of the field combat situation.

“We reassure our people and free peoples around the world that the Palestinian resistance and the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades are fine and that they are in control of the field combat situation and are attacking the enemy and its gatherings around the clock in accordance with their carefully prepared defense plans before this aggression began” he said.

He added: “We say to the occupation whose losses exceeded 180 tanks troop carriers and military vehicles and hundreds of dead and wounded among its soldiers and officers in just two weeks that we are still at the beginning of the battle and that what is coming is greater.”

He also condemned the passive position of UN and international human rights bodies in dealing with the ongoing Israeli massacres.

“Whoever remains silent or merely condemns legitimizes the power of the jungle” he added.

The leader in the Hamas Movement continued: “As for our Arab and Islamic nation we affirm that this battle is the battle of the entire nation and the battle to defend our Arab dignity Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa.”

He stressed: “We are fighting this battle and we are certain that we will be victorious and we have no choice but victory.”

“We are waging the battle of liberation and self-determination for our people. We are waging the battle of ending the occupation protecting Al-Aqsa liberating the prisoners and breaking the siege on our people in the Gaza Strip which has extended for more than 17 years.”

The Hamas leader renewed his calls to the United Nations and international organizations to come and protect hospitals and medical centers and refute the Israeli allegations about hospitals.

He described the claims of Israeli occupation army spokesman Daniel Hagari regarding Al-Rantisi Hospital in Gaza as “naïve and reveal the psychological state of a defeated army” and refuted all the allegations he mentioned regarding the basement located beneath the hospital that specializes in treating pediatric cancer patients.

He considered burying 170 bodies in mass graves in Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City a disgrace to the international community and renewed the demand to completely open the Rafah border crossing with Egypt to bring in aid.

Regarding the statements of Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich welcoming the resettlement of Gaza residents in Western countries the Hamas leader said “We are staying on this land and you are cowardly passers-by.”
