Member of Hamas political bureau Khalil al-Hayya said in a news conference in Beirut on Tuesday evening that Hamas had handed its response to the mediated ceasefire to both Egypt and Qatar.
The Israeli occupation has been manipulating whenever we get closer to an agreement he added.
“Netanyahu and the Israeli army will not be able to achieve any achievement. We are confident of their defeat and the enemy has not achieved any field achievement on the ground other than committing war crimes and horrific massacres.”
He pointed out that “the occupation forces have turned Al-Shifa Hospital and the Indonesian Hospital into military barracks and are working to put the health system in northern Gaza out of service.”
He noted that “the Israeli occupation’s announcement of the existence of tunnels in Al-Shifa Hospital is a farce that no one believed and that the lies and fabrication of theatrics are to justify targeting hospitals and infrastructure.”
“The occupation seeks to push the people of Gaza to evacuate to the south and then out of the Strip towards Egypt” the Hamas official added.
Al-Hayya also stressed the urgent need of opening the Rafah crossing before aid and medical supplies.
