Hamas calls for escalating massive protests on International Day of Solidarity

Tuesday 28-November-2023

The Hamas Movement has called for the escalation of worldwide Pro-Palestine massive protests on the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People in rejection of the Israeli bloody aggression on the Gaza Strip and in support of the Palestinian right to freedom and independence.

Hamas said, in a statement on Tuesday, “On the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, November 29, We call on the masses of our people, the Arab and Islamic nation and the free people of the world to escalate all forms of mass activism, pro-Gaza protests and rallies in condemnation of the Israeli heinous crimes and genocidal war waged against our people for more than 50 days.”

Hamas also renewed its calls for “expanding and sustaining mobilizations in all cities, capitals and squares around the world in support of the rights of our people to liberation, return and self-determination and to denounce the Israeli aggression and war crimes in order to push for criminalizing and halting Israeli crimes and violations”.

The United Nations commemorates November 29 every year, as the day on which the UN General Assembly issued Partition Resolution No. (181).

Every year, this date is commemorated with pro-Palestine solidarity events by political figures and organizations in support of the Palestinian cause. However, this November 29 coincides with the escalating Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank including Jerusalem.

In response to UN calls, governments and civil societies around the world hold annual various events in solidarity with the Palestinian people including, issuing petitions, solidarity letters, holding conventions, and handing out media leaflets, demonstrating films and other activities.
