A group of settlers, protected by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF), paved a settler-only road on private Palestinian lands belonging to local residents of Qarawat Bani Hassan town, northwest of Salfit, in the northern West Bank, on Wednesday.
The town’s minor, Ibrahim Assi, affirmed that the settlers stormed the town accompanied by a bulldozer and under IOF protection and established a settler-only road to connect the Hafayat Yair illegal outpost and the Al-Ras area north of the town.
Asi noted in press statements that the settlers are seeking to seize more than 3,000 dunums of the lands of the towns of Qarawat Bani Hassan and Deir Istiya, northwest of Salfit.
The settlers attacked the landowners who tried to reach the bulldozing area, and fired live bullets at Palestinian farmers, forcing them to leave their own land.
