Kuwaiti charities launched on Friday a campaign to send two humanitarian relief ships for the Gaza people through Al-Arish Port near the border area of Rafah.

The general supervisor of the campaign, Omar al-Thuwaini explained that the campaign collected over 1,000,000 Kuwaiti dinars (about $3,000,000) in less than six hours.

Thuwaini told Quds Press that the organizers of the campaign aim to send two ships loaded with relief aid, including food and medical supplies, to alleviate the suffering of the Gaza people.

“The two ships are slated to depart from Turkish ports on Sunday, December 9, with 2,000 tons of aid on board,” he said.

In a related context, the Kuwait Society for Relief (KSR) announced on Friday in Istanbul that it had signed an executive contract with the Turkish Red Crescent Society to send a ship carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza through Egypt’s Al-Arish Port.

Chairman of the KSR board of directors Ibrahim al-Saleh told Kuwait News Agency that the $4,000,000 contract that was signed with the Red Crescent aims to meet the needs of the victimized and besieged people of Gaza.
