A Palestinian young man was shot dead at dawn Sunday by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in Qalqilya City, while another one was killed yesterday by extremist Jewish settlers in Qarawat Bani Hassan town, west of Salfit.
Local sources said that Israeli soldiers cold-bloodedly killed 21-year-old Adnan Zaid in the western street of Qalqilya as he was walking to a bakery, where he worked.
The incident provoked violent clashes between local youths and Israeli forces in the city, while a general strike was declared in the city in mourning for the slain young man.
In a separate incident, another young man was shot dead by armed settlers in Qarawat Bani Hassan town on Saturday afternoon.
Local sources said that 38-year-old Ahmed Asi, married with six kids, was killed when a settler opened fire at him as he and other local residents were trying to fend off an attack on their town by a horde of extremist settlers.
Three other citizens also suffered bullet injuries during the same settler attack on the town.
The sources explained that the settlers burned a house and a car and attacked several homes in al-Ras area of the town before the local residents intervened and confronted them.
Later, Israeli soldiers and armed settlers opened fire at the citizens, killing Asi and wounding three others.
Meanwhile, two young men were injured by IOF gunfire during clashes in the towns of Ya’bad and Yamun.
The IOF also kidnaped two young men from Mariha area near Ya’bad town.
