The Hamas Movement has condemned the Israeli occupation government’s “arrogant” decision to revoke the residence visa of UN humanitarian coordinator Lynn Hastings because of her refusal to adopt the Israeli narrative about the war on the Gaza Strip.
“The Zionists are trying to impose their misleading and false narrative to cover up the genocidal and ethnic cleansing war they are waging on the Palestinian people,” Hamas said in a statement on Wednesday.
The Movement called on the UN and the international community to take a firm stance against Israel’s extortion policy and its disrespect for UN figures and bodies.
Israeli foreign minister Eli Cohen announced on X that he canceled a visa for Lynn Hastings, the UN humanitarian coordinator in the occupied Palestinian territories, over her refusal to speak out against Hamas.
Hastings has been a vocal critic of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza and has led appeals for increased humanitarian aid in Gaza.
