The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor accused Israel of deliberately assassinating the prominent Palestinian academic Dr. Refaat Al-Areer.
The day before yesterday, Refaat received a phone call from Israeli intelligence about locating him in the school where he took refuge. They informed him that they were going to kill him, the Geneva-based group said on X.
He left the school not wanting to endanger the others, and at 6 p.m., his sister’s apartment was bombed, where he was killed, his sister and her four children, the group added.
On Thursday evening, Dr Refaat Al-Areer was killed in an Israeli air raid on his sister’s house. His brother, sister, and her four children were also murdered in the bloody attack.
Dr. Refaat was an English-language professor at the Islamic University that was destroyed in the Israeli barbaric aggression and whose rector was also killed by Israeli shelling along with his family.
The martyr was distinguished for advocating the Palestine cause on various western and international media platforms.
