A large crowd laid to rest the bodies of five martyrs who fell in the Nur Shams refugee camp in Tulkarem in a violent raid by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) into the camp and the city of Tulkarem and its surroundings.

In the Nur Shams camp, the 5 young men were martyred since the early hours of the morning today.

The funeral procession began in front of the Thabet Thabet Martyr Hospital and headed in massive processions through the streets of Tulkarem to the Nur Shams camp, where the last farewell was given by the residents and friends in the camp. The afternoon prayer and funeral were performed in the Return Park next to the Nur Shams cemetery, where the martyrs were buried.

The massive crowds championed resistance and chanted slogans in support of Mohammed Al-Daif and Gaza and there were calls to escalate resistance in the West Bank and to confront the IOF escalating crimes.

They also called for unleashing the hand of resistance and unifying efforts in a resistance program to confront the occupation and liberate the occupied lands. They rejected security coordination and the pursuit of the mirage of negotiations.

The mourners condemned the IOF crimes against the Palestinian people, affirming the steadfastness of the people and their continued struggle along the path of freedom and following in the footsteps of the martyrs in confronting the crimes of the occupation and achieving the freedom of the prisoners and the establishment of the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

A comprehensive strike spread across the city of Tulkarem and its suburbs and camps, in response to the call of the national and Islamic forces.

The IOF invaded the city of Tulkarem, its refugee camp, and the Nur Shams camp at dawn Sunday. Resistance factions in Tulkarem engaged in fierce clashes with the invading forces, during which locally-made explosive devices were detonated in the IOF vehicles and soldiers.

Armed confrontations broke out between resistance fighters and the IOF in the town of Anabta, east of Tulkarem, as well as in the neighborhoods of the city and the Tulkarem camp. The mosques in the city and its camps echoed with calls for general mobilization.

The IOF soldiers carried out a large-scale arrest campaign among the residents of the Nur Shams camp after invading a large number of its homes, smashing and destroying their contents completely. The soldiers assaulted ambulance crews, obstructed their work, and prevented them from reaching the injured, and arrested one of the injured from an ambulance.

The number of Palestinian martyrs in the West Bank and Jerusalem has risen to 307, as a result of the IOF and settlers’ attacks since the beginning of the Al-Aqsa Flood Battle on October 7, according to the statistics of the Palestine Data Center “Mu’ti”.
