Deputy leader of Hamas in Gaza, Khalil Al-Hayya, said that no agreement to free Israeli hostages would be possible before the war ends.

“The resistance rejects the aggression of the enemy, which must be stopped – and then we can discuss prisoner exchanges and saving our people,” he told Al Jazeera in an interview.

“The issue of prisoner exchanges is closed until the cessation of the war.”

“We want an end to the aggression, then we will go to reconstruction and construction, and then we will talk about the prisoners.”

On the other hand, he stressed that the resistance is steadfast and capable of inflicting more losses on the enemy

“Only the liberation of our land and our sanctities will stop us from defending our people,” he said.

“The next day in Gaza is a victory, and whoever thinks beyond Hamas is thinking of an illusion.”

Meanwhile, he hailed the Ansar Allah group in Yemen, “which has tilted the balance. I am calling on our brothers in Yemen: keep on following this path.”

He also thanked groups in Iraq for their support for Palestinian resistance and the Hezbollah Lebanese group “for distracting the enemy on the northern front.”
