A high-level delegation from the Islamic Jihad Movement led by its secretary-general Ziyad an-Nakhala arrived today, Sunday, in Cairo for talks with Egyptian officials over a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
An informed Islamic Jihad source said the delegation arrived in Egypt to participate in discussions aimed at swapping prisoners and exploring ways to end the Israeli aggression against Gaza.
The source added that the delegation would reiterate its position on the need to carry out an all-for-all prisoner exchange after the Israeli occupation army stops its aggression and withdraws its forces from Gaza as part of a political process agreed upon by all political parties in the Palestinian arena.
Last Wednesday, a top Hamas delegation led by political bureau chief Ismail Haneyya arrived in Cairo to discuss with Egyptian officials different issues concerning the situation in Gaza and the Israeli aggression.
