Senior Hamas official Ghazi Hamad has reiterated his Movement’s readiness to agree on what he called a common national vision to manage the affairs of the Gaza Strip in the wake of the brutal Israeli aggression that has been ongoing for over 100 days.

In televised remarks on Tuesday, Hamad said that the Israeli war on Gaza must lead to a new Palestinian trajectory, stressing that “Hamas is part of the Palestinian national fabric, so there cannot be any national arrangements without it.”

Hamad expressed his Movement’s readiness to cooperate with all Palestinian factions, including Fatah, in order to agree on a joint national vision for managing Gaza.

“We, the Palestinians, can be in charge of ourselves, and it is not essential for Hamas to be in power. We have stated more than once that we are ready to hand over Gaza to a Palestinian national government,” Hamad said.

Hamad denied that Hamas insists on governing Gaza by itself, stressing the need for a Palestinian national consensus to administer its affairs, with no interference from the US administration.
