Israel assassinated on Saturday several Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) military officials in an airstrike that targeted a residential building in the Syrian capital city of Damascus.
The IRGC announced the assassination of Al-Quds Force Intelligence Commander, Brigadier General Haj Sadiq, and his deputy, in an Israeli airstrike on Al-Mezzeh neighborhood in Damascus.
While the Iranian Mehr Agency reported that the Israeli airstrike on Damascus resulted in the killing of two senior advisors to IRGC, Syrian media said that 4 people were killed in the attack.
Reuters reported that 4 members of the IRGC, including the head of the Information Unit, were killed in the Israeli attack.
The agency quoted a source in a pro-Syrian regional coalition as saying that the attack, in which “precision-guided missiles” were used, led to the destruction of a multi-story building in Al-Mezzeh neighborhood of the Syrian capital.
Local sources reported that three people were martyred in the Israeli attack on Damascus, including two Iranian officers from the Information Unit of the IRGC.
The sources added that the targeted building in Damascus consists of 3 floors and is occupied by a group affiliated with the IRGC.
