A Palestinian young man was proclaimed dead at dawn Monday after he succumbed to a serious bullet injury he sustained when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at local youths in al-Yamun town, west of Jenin.
Local sources said that 21-year-old Thaer Hammou died of a critical bullet injury in his abdomen after doctors tried to save his life at al-Hadaf medical Center.
The sources added that the Israeli forces went on the rampage through al-Yamun town, causing widespread destruction to infrastructure and private and public property, amid clashes with local youths and resistance fighters.
The IOF also broke into and ransacked several homes and assaulted their residents.
Following the martyrdom of the young man, dozens of local residents staged a march in the town’s streets, chanting slogans calling for escalating the resistance against the occupation.
The IOF also stormed Deir Abu Da’if village, east of Jenin, and kidnaped two young men from their homes.
Resistance fighters reportedly showered IOF vehicles with bullets during the raid in the village.
Last night, Israeli troops launched an hours-long campaign in Jenin City and its refugee camp and embarked on bulldozing roads and private and public property, while resistance fighters courageously confronted and attacked them and their armored vehicles.
The IOF also besieged the Jenin Hospital, opened fire at its maternity ward and showered its courtyard with tear gas canisters.
Israeli soldiers reportedly assaulted and kidnaped a paramedic called Ahmed Qindeel in the eastern neighborhood of Jenin.
