The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor condemned the Israeli assassination of three Palestinians, including a wounded man, inside Ibn Sina Hospital in Jenin city in northern West Bank, stressing that their execution is a complex crime committed outside the law with no judicial procedures.

The Euro-Med Monitor denounced in a statement on Tuesday the crime that was committed by Israeli undercover soldiers who were disguised in civilian clothes with three wearing the uniforms of nurses and doctors to enter the hospital and assassinate the Palestinian young men in flagrant violation of the rules of international humanitarian law.

The statement added that some soldiers hid their weapons in children’s bags and used silencer pistols to execute the three young men: the wounded Basil Ayman Al-Ghazawi, who was receiving treatment for a serious injury he sustained since late October, his brother Muhammad, who was taking care of him in the hospital, and their friend Muhammad Jalamneh, who was accompanying them.

The undercover soldiers opened fire at the three men from zero distance before they withdrew from the hospital.

Euro-Med stressed that Israeli special forces committed a complex crime that involved multiple violations of international humanitarian law including storming a protected civilian hospital, committing a crime of treachery by disguising in uniforms of doctors, nurses, and civilian clothes, in addition to executing individuals who did not pose any danger to anyone, including a seriously injured man, whereas they could have simply arrested them.

The occupation army acknowledged in a statement the assassination of three Palestinian youths through a joint operation with General Security Service (Shin Bet) and the Special Police in a hospital, claiming that they were planning to carry out attacks against Israeli targets, similar to what happened on the seventh of last October.

But the Euro-Med Monitor commented on the Israeli occupation army’s statement, saying it is just a pretext to carry out more horrific and retaliatory crimes.

The execution of the three young men is another grave violation of the international immunity granted to hospitals and medical personnel, under allegations that have not been proven to be true, it highlighted.

The human rights organization indicated that more than 380 Palestinians have been martyred in the West Bank and East Jerusalem at the hands of Israeli occupation forces and settlers. A big number of them were subjected to field executions, it added.
