A Palestinian young man was killed and many others were injured on Wednesday after the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) stormed Beit Ummar town in northern al-Khalil and attacked local youths.
The Palestinian health ministry said that 18-year-old Naihal Brighith died of a critical bullet injury in his head during the skirmishes that broke out between young men and Israeli soldiers in Beit Ummar town.
13 other young men were also injured, three of them seriously, during the events and were evacuated to hospitals in al-Khalil.
The Red Crescent, for its part, said that its ambulance crews evacuated nine wounded young men, two of them with injuries in the back and abdomen.
Local sources said that most of the wounded young men were school students who were attacked by Israeli forces upon their return to their homes.
In another incident, Palestinian resistance fighters opened fire at the military checkpoint leading to the illegal settlement of Dotan near Jenin and withdrew from the area.
Later, the IOF intensified its presence in the area near the settlement and launched a manhunt for the shooters.
